Experience Evanston

Evanston Station is privately owned and operated by John and Maree Macmillan and their four children Hannah, Eliza, Cam & Phoebe. This is a fully operational and functioning sheep station which has been in the family for over 50 years. The station is located 50km South East of Longreach. The family pride themselves on producing sustainable wool using responsible wool standards. The family wish to welcome guests to see first hand and experience station life and welcome the chance to discuss and educate about their daily lifestyle. Priority is to ensure guests relax - either in their accomodation, the peaceful garden or by sipping a cool drink by the pool. The outback sunsets and colours are amazing which is a very pleasant way to end each day.

Shearers Quarters Accomodation

The Evanston Station Shearers Quarters, which are over 50 years old, have retained their original charm and character, making them a unique and authentic accommodation option. They are conveniently located just a short and comfortable stroll away from the homestead and boast a private airstrip for easy and convenient access.

Upon arrival, you'll be greeted with high-quality linens and incredibly comfortable beds, ensuring a restful and rejuvenating night's sleep. Each room is air-conditioned and heated for your added comfort, and all towels and toiletries are provided for your convenience.

While staying in the shearers quarters, you'll experience the true essence of Australian outback living. Each room has its own private bathroom, located just a short walk away, in keeping with the authentic shearers quarters style. The quarters have been recently renovated and now feature a fully equipped kitchen and dining room, allowing you to prepare your own meals and enjoy them in comfort.

After a day of exploring the outback, relax on the deck with a BBQ, take in the breathtaking sunset views, and enjoy a drink at the sunset bar. When the evening sets in, gather around the fire for a cozy and memorable night under the stars.
